The Many Questions of Wolves

So on my way to Florida this weekend for a little family trip I spent a lot of time re-listening to Wolves and this time I was very focused on the lyrics. This is a good thing because one, I’ve never truly corrected a lot of mistakes in the lyrics on the old version of the site, so I can now say I am sure they are correct (or 99%) and secondly, this lead to a realization.

WOLVES ASKS A LOT OF QUESTIONS. LITERALLY.

At first notice of this I got all excited and thought perhaps I had found some intentional lyrical trend throughout all the songs … until I noticed a few songs didn’t in fact feature questions in the lyrics.

Oh well. Either way, here is a list of the questions asked in Wolves, in order:

  1. Have all things gold turned souvenir?
  2. How heavy is the burden of your soul?
  3. Enough to disguise all you might’ve said?
  4. Where will you be when the light is taking over everything?
  5. Who cleans and who forgets?
  6. Where’s the hope I’m fighting for?
  7. What are the reasons to pursue this affair?
  8. Was it all a plan for me to bury skin under the seam?
  9. What dreams do you have for me?

I for one enjoy Daniel and Mike’s inquisitive nature. Now take these questions and go ponder dear readers. Ponder.

The New IdiotFans

Ok, so looking around you may be disappointed to see a site that is now far less stylized then the previous site. I’m sorry for this, but when problems with my host caused catastrophic site damage, I realized the true flaw of the original IdiotFans site. The flaw? All focus on aesthetics, none on true upgradability or functionality. The site was a pain to update. Every single page besides the front page with news feed was static. The only dynamic aspect of the whole thing was the news feed.

I am proud of the original IdiotFans design as far as designs go, but I have grown as a web developer and realize now that a strong foundation is the most important thing. Flexible and dynamic sites are the ones that truly are fit to grow and expand for long term future use, so with no further ado I grant you IdiotFans 2.0. It may not be flashy, but it works, and will be much easier to update. I am using the WordPress platform as a CMS, and look forward to the future.

New site features include:

  • True user subscriptions and accounts.
(the entire site is now truly suited for more in-depth  interactions from the readers. Polls, comments, etc.
  • Multiple Authors
(So this shouldn’t be anything super special, but it is to me. The site can no support multiple authors which means when the site grows as Idiot Pilot inevitably gets more exposure, I don’t have to be the only one making updates.)
  • RSS Everything
(If you don’t know what RSS is, then wiki it. Pretty much the best way to keep up on what’s going on here at IdiotFans.)
  • Built In gallery support
(Not only is it easy to manage lots of images at one time now, it can be done in a easy and dynamic way for me. Really all media types can be easily organized and published now.
  • Archives
(Everything on the site is archived and recorded properly for future reference.)
  • Search
(Speaking of archives, what’s the good if you can’t search through them easily. A search function that actually works is cool. The first sites search wasn’t up to par.)
  • More
(There are plenty of little things that are more back-end, but let’s just say it’s all pretty awesome

So there you have it. I will still be working on ideas to make the site more aesthetically pleasing, but for now I’m just glad we are back up and working. Have patience while I work through some kinks that will inevitably arise.
